Principle

This website is deliberately built to use as little data as possible. No cookies are set, no advertising networks are embedded, and no fonts or maps are loaded from external servers. All fonts are hosted on this website's own server.

Server log files

When you open a page, the host processes technically necessary data sent by your browser, in particular IP address, time, page requested, volume of data and browser identification. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in operating the website securely under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The data is deleted once it is no longer needed for that purpose.

Hosting

This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 101 2nd Street, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place. As the provider is based in the USA, processing may take place outside the EU, on the basis of the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Usage statistics

I use Netlify Analytics, a function of the host named above, to evaluate how the site is used. The evaluation is carried out purely server-side from the log files that arise anyway when a page is delivered. No script is embedded in the page, no cookies are set, and nothing is stored on or read from your device. What is evaluated: page views, the approximate region of origin, addresses requested, addresses not found and the volume of data transferred. The IP address is used to avoid counting visits within a day more than once; it is not shown to me. No profiles of individual visitors are created and visitors are not recognised across sites. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in statistical evaluation of website use under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. As the evaluation takes place at the host, the notes on hosting apply accordingly.

Getting in touch

If you contact me by phone, email or through the enquiry form, I process your details solely to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up questions. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual steps, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The details are deleted once the enquiry has been dealt with and no retention periods apply.

Enquiry form

The details submitted (name, phone or email, type of project, message) are received by the host's form service and forwarded to me. Only the fields needed for an answer are collected.

Note: Google Search Console, which I use to check how findable this website is, embeds no code in the page and processes no data from your visit. It only shows me evaluations from Google search.
